Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes Castle

Completed in 2011, this project involves the careful extension and internal alterations to this Grade II* Castle.

Overall, the main aim was to design a sympathetic but distinctive extension to include new member’s locker rooms and also to rationalise internal circulation and associated spaces. The exterior of the extension is curved in plan to give a new frontage and to reflect the existing Tower. A Sedum roof has been introduced to the extended flat roof over the new locker rooms.

Rainey Petrie Architecture were appointed as Architects & Quantity Surveyors for this project from inception to completion.
